ZUI 5.0 SemiGSI For Moto G5 Plus

This is the ZUI semiGSI which was made from Lenovo Z5 system. ZUI is a customized version of android just like MIUI, for ZUK series smartphone of Lenovo. It is different from MIUI and gives a new simplistic look and smoother experience. This semiGSI is based on Android 8.1 and is 64bit. You can use google camera , moto camera as well as the default ZUI camera. Other than this there are some bugs ,which can not be fixed due to limitation from vendor and system.

Due to community project treble support for G5 Plus , its been possible to use it on G5 Plus. If you want to proceed to install this on your G5 Plus, you need to have a rooted and unlocked phone along with treble TWRP installed. If you didn't understood what I just said, then this thing is not for you. It needs some common knowledge of these things, you can look on google for more information about these things.

Let's start with bugs 🤪1. USB tethering (just internet won't work through USB)
2. NFC /FM
3. Automatic Brightness/Brightness (See the workaround fix)
4. Some other unknown things which I haven't noticed yet.

Fix for brightness - Actually the brightness bar is working , but the brightness is full even at low slider. So I made an app as a workaround which fixes this issue. The brightness bar in the notification panel will not work at all (I did it intentionally) .

Brislider - I have included this app for adjusting brightness ,as well a toggle for flashlight because the flashlight toggle in notification panel is not working, needs root access, You have to launch the app every time you want to change brightness. (You can use the quick tiles app from playstore and add a tile for BriSlider app in notification panel, it will be easy to lauch the app and change the brightness from anywhere).

Files Needed

• sGSI (extract it).
• MIUI 10 Vendor.
• ZUI Fixes Zip
• Extended Kernel (Oreo/Pie treble version, its needed if you want moto fingerprint gestures to work)
• Treble enabled TWRP (In case if you are using any old normal TWRP)

How to flash

1- Extract the zip (keep the patch 1 and patch 2 at any other place) , Then put the whole extracted system backup folder in the TWRP backup folder. (Internal Storage/TWRP/backups/*device id"/here).

2- Go to TWRP and wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache.

3- Install MiUI 10 Vendor Zip

4- Restore the ZUI 5.0 system backup using restore option in TWRP

5- * Mount vendor now
* Flash Patch 1
* Flash ZUI sGSI fixes zip
* Flash Patch 2

6. Flash Magisk (any newer version above 17.1)

7. Flash Extended Kernel.

8. Reboot now. ;) It will take around 5-10 minutes to boot.
