Motorola's Next Smartphone Leaks, Stylus In Tow - PCMag.com

Styluses aren't popular, but some consumers still find value in pairing them with smartphones. Samsung introduced an entire line focused on the accessory, and the LG Stylo series also carved out a group of buyers who need the extra method of control. Now, Motorola could join the mix and roll out a smartphone that stores a stylus within its construction.

Motorola, according to mobile industry Evan Blass, will announce and release a stylus-wielding smartphone in the months ahead. Details are light, but the leaked press render indicates the stylus has at least two built-in buttons.

The leak also reveals an edge-to-edge screen, a hole-punch storing the front-facing camera, and a gesture-based navigation system. It might turn out as a mid-range smartphone; however, nothing tells us what to expect in terms of specifications. All that's gathered from the press render is, in addition to including a stylus, Motorola plans on embracing some modern design elements.

If you're looking for something a bit more adventurous from Motorola, get ready for the new Razr. The clamshell-style foldable phone got delayed in late 2019, but it's scheduled to ship on February 6.

Mobile World Congress 2020 will serve as a launching pad for several smartphones, and Motorola often shows up to the Barcelona-based trade show with a full lineup to unveil. Immediately after the announcement, this smartphone and Motorola's other models should go up for sale. Both unlocked and carrier-sold variants might hit the market together.
