The Android 11 reveal is no longer happening on June 3.
The delay was confirmed in an overnight Friday-Saturday tweet from the mobile operating system's official account. There's no specific reason given for the change in plans, beyond a general sense of acceptance that "now is not the time to celebrate."
We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate. We are postponing the June 3rd event and beta release. We'll be back with more on Android 11, soon.

Don't expect anyone to argue. Between the ongoing pandemic and the protest actions that have unfolded in the wake of George Floyd's death, no one's going to miss a tech-centric press conference. Better to just wait.
While the reveal was sure to bring at least a few surprises, we already know plenty about Android 11. New privacy features are coming that will give users a finer degree of control over location sharing. There's also evidence that the OS update will bring a content sharing feature not unlike Apple's AirDrop.
In fact, developer previews of Android 11 have already offered a sense of the bigger picture changes coming in the version update. While developer preview features don't always make it into the final release, there's still a lot of information out there about what the revised OS could contain.
As of now, there's no sense of what more details might be coming on the rescheduled reveal and beta release. Google is presumably watching the headlines just like everyone else. The expectation all along has been a September launch for Android 11 and there's no reason at this point to think that might change.
