Users reported having issues with Google as they tried to access the search engine on their Android smartphones.

According to the online outage tracker Downdetector, which gives users real-time information about the status of websites, people experienced issues accessing Google at 1:20 a.m. (ET) on June 22.

Visitors to Google experienced problems accessing and using the search engine, with some complaining they experienced issues when using its app on their Android phones.

According to Downdetector, 186 people reported having an issue with the search engine at 1:20 a.m. with 62 percent of responders claiming to have problems logging in.

Another 37 percent said they had issues using the search function.

Issues trying to access the Google app do not appear to be localized, with the issues having been reported across the globe by users in Japan, India, and the U.S.

Newsweek found hundreds of people across social media sites as well as the Downdetector website had complained to Google about having issues with the app.

One user on Downdetector said: "Google is now constantly showing me this message now '403. That's an error. Your client does not have permission to get…'

"And then goes on to say the URL and what I was trying to look up. I am not on parental controls or anything."

The user later added: "I was wondering if anyone has had this randomly come up and stay this way."

A 403 error message means the server understood the request, but could not carry it out.

Another user posted: "It says that Google has stopped working every couple of seconds for me annoying."

Several users also said a pop-up would be displayed on the screen when they tried to access the app that said: "Google keeps stopping."

Others said they were able to resolve the problem by uninstalling updates on their devices.

A commenter on Downdetector said: "Uninstalling updates works as a temporary fix, but yeah it is a very annoying update that they should have tested more."

Newsweek has contacted Google for comment.

Google users were not the only people to experience issues with online outages, with OnlyFans subscribers having problems trying to access the website.

On Monday, many people took to social media platforms to complain the site was down across the U.S.

Fortunately, the website's teething issues did appear to have been resolved and that OnlyFans was not running as normal with no issues having been reported in the past hour.
