GitHub for Android beta program has launched - JAXenter

The new beta program for GitHub for Android was announced by Ryan Nystrom on the GitHub blog. It offers GitHub functionality in a mobile app.

Last November, we already caught a first glimpse of GitHub for mobile when it was presented in the keynote at GitHub Universe 2019 that took place during November 13-14. The beta program for iOS has been available since November.

Dark mode, swiping and more

GitHub for Android is a native app, which means it supports multiple screen sizes and settings such as dark mode. And this is how the new app looks in dark and light mode:

In the app, you can swipe tasks or notifications to either save them for later or mark them as done:

GitHub for Android also supports merging pull requests. For running the app, Android 5.1 or later is required.

If you want to try out the new app, you can sign up for the limited number of seats available in the beta program at GitHub. Access to the iOS beta program can be requested via GitHub as well.
