NVIDIA's GeForce NOW game streaming service, which is currently limited to the company's SHIELD TV devices on Android TV, could soon be available on other devices running Google's Smart TV and media streaming platform (via Android Headlines).
The latest version of the NVIDIA GeForce NOW app on the Play Store adds "beta support for Android TV devices." The changelog adds that other Android TVs have not been optimized for GeForce NOW and may not deliver a great experience. Unsurprisingly, NVIDIA recommends SHIELD TV for the best GeForce NOW experience with the lowest latency and highest quality.

Our latest update adds beta support for Android TV devices. NVIDIA recommends SHIELD TV with the NVIDIA Games app for the best GeForce NOW experience on a TV. SHIELD TV provides the lowest latency and highest quality on TVs. Other Android TV devices have not been optimized and experiences may vary.
In Korea, the LG U+ UHD3 set top box has been optimized for GeForce NOW.
NVIDIA GeForce Now will only be available on Android TV devices that support OpenGL ES 3.2 and have at least 2GB of RAM. They will also need to be running Android 5.0 or later. However, not all Android TVs are likely to receive official support. NVIDIA says only select Android TV devices are going to receive support. While there is no word yet on when official support for compatible Android TVs will arrive, it is expected to start rolling out sometime later this year.
