Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro is said to introduce several never-before-seen features. One of those features was rumoured to be solid-state buttons powered by the haptic engine. However, a new report from industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that Apple has opted not to include this technology on the iPhone 15 Pro due to technical challenges.
As soon as this news broke, the share value of Cirrus Logic, the brand behind the solid-state button tech and the haptic engine, took a hit. With this development, the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro is likely to feature a similar button system as the iPhone 14 Pro with no major changes.
Despite the iPhone 15 Pro missing out on the solid-state buttons, there seem to be enough new features to differentiate it from its predecessor. Like every year, the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to launch in September alongside the vanilla models like the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus, which are also expected to feature a USB Type-C port, Dynamic Island display, A16 Bionic processor, and could even feature a 48MP primary camera.

Expected features of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro
While solid-state buttons were considered a major upgrade on the iPhone 15 Pro, the next flagship model from Apple is also rumoured to introduce several new features, such as a USB Type-C port with support for faster data transfer instead of a Lightning port.
The iPhone 15 Pro is also said to be the first smartphone from the company to feature a titanium frame, making it a durable and premium-looking device. On top of that, it could also help Apple iPhones to shed some weight, making the iPhone 15 Pro a much lighter device when compared to its predecessor with a stainless steel frame.
The cameras on the iPhone are also expected to get an update. This could include a high-resolution ultra-wide-angle lens, and the iPhone 15 Pro could also get a periscope zoom lens to take on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The Pro iPhones are always known for being ahead of the curve when it comes to performance, and the iPhone 15 Pro with the 3nm-based A17 Bionic processor could continue the lead. Reports also suggest that the iPhone 15 Pro might offer 8GB of RAM, and the base model might start with 256GB of internal storage. With all these upgrades, the base model of the iPhone 15 Pro is also said to see a price bump from $999, which will be the first since the launch of the iPhone X back in 2017.
