Do Beats Fit Pro Work With Android? What You Need To Know - Screen Rant

The Beats Fit Pro are being hailed as some of the best new headphones for iPhone users — but are they any good when paired with an Android phone? True wireless earbuds have come a long way in the few short years they've been on the market. They've gotten smaller, better audio, longer battery life, and expanded features. However, there's also been a less-pleasant side effect popping up more and more often.

Nowadays, many wireless earbuds have features that are only accessible on select devices. AirPods have functioned like this since the original model launched in 2016. They're seamless and magical with Apple devices, but if you try using AirPods with an Android phone, you lose almost everything that makes the earbuds so great. The same is true of earbuds from other companies, too. Samsung's Galaxy Buds 2 don't have an iOS companion app, Pixel Buds A-Series lose much of their functionality on iOS, and the OnePlus Buds Pro have tight integration exclusively with OnePlus phones.

That brings us to the Beats Fit Pro. One of the main draws to the earbuds is the included Apple H1 chip. This enables the Fit Pro to have all of the same smart features as their AirPods cousin — including one-touch pairing with Apple gadgets, automatic switching with iCloud devices, audio sharing, Find My tracking, and hands-free 'Hey Siri' commands. Unlike AirPods, however, the Beats Fit Pro work just as good with Android phones.

Features You Get With Beats Fit Pro On Android

To get the most out of the Fit Pro on an Android device, all users have to do is download the free Beats app from the Play Store. Open the app, accept the required permissions, and then open the Fit Pro case with the earbuds inside them. This creates an automatic pairing prompt with the Beats app, and within seconds, the earbuds are paired to the Android phone and synced with the app.

From here, Android users have access to many of the same features that iOS folks do. The app allows you to enable/disable noise canceling and transparency mode, rename the earbuds, turn on in-ear detection, change the playback controls, adjust microphone settings, and take an eartip fit test. Features like Find My tracking, Siri commands, and iCloud device switching obviously aren't present, but it's a considerably better experience than using AirPods with Android.

The only real downside here is that the Beats Fit Pro don't support Android Fast Pair — something the cheaper Beats Studio Buds do offer. Fast Pair includes helpful earbud controls outside of the Beats companion app, such as battery life info, lost device tracking, and even faster pairing. It's unfortunate Fast Pair didn't make the cut for the Fit Pro, but regardless, they're still a solid earbud option for anyone living in the Android ecosystem.
