It's obvious fact that samsung was just lazy with the minis.
Like they said it was flagship by name but not by tech.
They were cheaper phones. With Samsung just putting little effort in and then letting them fade.

I really thought it was Android. I just be mixing it up with another device.

The only ones slow after few months.
Not even the LG tablet with SD400 was an issue.

There's nothing smart about a phone with a screen size of a feature phone. That is the only reason virtually no one buys them. Not because of your personal selective view of what's "flagship" and what's not.
If you want a real flagship mini device in 2021 the ONLY option is the Flip3. It's the smallest smartphone I've ever owned and it comes with a massive 6.7-inch display. Best of both worlds.

Wasn't it for Japan market only ? Then like why should we remember anything that was specifically for Japanese market ? I remember a lot of good phones were for Japanese only. Like the time when we start to see cameras on a phone the best one's was for only Japanese market and they got everything nice in hardware too. Now they are just behind on everything as China is dominating now

Anonymous, 8 hours agoPanasonic does. But only for India. Those Eluga. Sharp is not entirely Foxconn. Just 2/3. Yeah, you are right about Sharp(only around 65% was sold to Foxconn). About Panasonic I don't have any new information. They made some cheap phones, but for example GSMArena did not post any new phones on their website for a while.

It is sad seeing many Japanese companies out of the smartphone industry. Now, only a few remains: 1. Sony
2. Sharp(which is owned by Foxconn since 2016)
3. Fujitsu
4. Kyocera.
The following companies no longer makes phones: 1. Panasonic.
2. Casio( yes, they made phones as well)
3. Mitsubishi( yes, they made phones as well, till 2007).
4. Hitachi
5. Toshiba
6. Sanyo( Kyocera bought the company back in 2007 as far as I know).
7. Nec
And there was another one which I don't remember.
So the Japanese had a good start. Maybe if they would have make premium phones for the whole world, some of these might be still around, who knows.

Sharp and even Sanyo, both from Japan, probably had better success with mobile than Panasonic and Toshiba did. I enjoyed all of Japanese brands. Was into Aiwa when Sony owned a little over half of them in 1998.
I've owned something from most of these Japanese companies...
Sony
Panasonic (Matsushita)
Toshiba
Sharp
Sanyo
Nintendo
Sega
Canon
Nikon
Fujitsu
Fujifilm
JVC
NEC
Kyocera
Hitachi
Yamaha
Pioneer
TDK
Casio
Honda/Acura
Toyota/Lexus
Mitsubishi
Then the Lost Generation happened next to a recession and most of them got lost by the 2000s.
My favorites are Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Honda, Toyota, Canon, Panasonic, and Toshiba.

Iphone 13 mini is too small to have a Pro version.

Sony, Panasonic, and Toshiba were like the Big 3 from Japan in the 1990s. I used to own some Toshiba products and they excellent quality. Same with Panasonic. But none of those three could really conquer cell phones like they did for general tech.
