The Game Dashboard is a unique feature introduced in Android 12 and offers a flurry of features to keep avid mobile gamers well entertained and get more out of their games. However, getting to the feature is rather tricky, and requires some clever maneuvering but once enabled, can be a big help.
Setting up Game Dashboard in Android 12
Game Dashboard allows players to take screenshots, record clips, see their FPS, stream their gameplay to YouTube Live, and optimize the game they are playing. It has a lot for people who are constantly gaming on their phones, so why not enable the feature to get more out of your experience?
The setting is well hidden in Android 12, but this guide will take you through the simple and easy steps to uncover it.
Open up your Settings and navigate to Notifications.
In Notifications, go down to Do Not Disturb which should be near the bottom of the menu.
In the Do Not Disturb menu, look for Schedules and enter the option.
Look for the Gaming checkbox, make sure it’s ticked or toggled on, and then tap on the gear icon next to it.
In here you will see a toggle for Game Dashboard. Simply set the toggle to On and launch a game you wish to play.
When you launch your game of choice, you will see a floating bubble at the middle-center of the screen in the shape of a controller. Tap on it and you will be taken to the Game Dashboard.
From here, you can add shortcuts to the hovering game bubble, so you can quickly see your FPS, record gameplay (video), and take a screenshot, all from the comfort of that floating bubble.
There is also the option of seeing Google Play Games support, optimizing the game, and streaming on YouTube Live if you are a content creator and want to do something with the game, but overall, the games dashboard is a neat feature for persistent mobile gamers.
Keep in mind that Game Dashboard is a feature that can vary from one game to the next, if you are unable to see the floating bubble, simply follow the last 3 steps or hold down Do Not Disturb from the Notification Shade, navigate to Schedules, Gaming, the gear icon, and turn Game Dashboard on and off again.
